Contest Results in New Name for Restaurant at Millcroft Inn & Spa

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON March 25, 2011 – Vintage Hotels announced the new name Headwaters Restaurant at Millcroft Inn & Spa at a reception held last night at the historic inn in Caledon. Two lucky winners were each awarded a Grand Prize of an overnight stay for two including a three-course dinner and breakfast for their entries of ‘Headwater’ and ‘Headwater’s’, slight variations of the final name chosen.

Accepting the award in person was a very delighted Ms. Dana Sinclair of Belfountain, Ontario. A second winner, Karl Terry, of Airdrie, Alberta, was unable to attend the reception, but was notified of his winning entry today. Twenty of the top finalists in the recent contest were invited to attend Thursday’s reception, along with local dignitaries, business partners and contest sponsors Caledon Living and Orangeville Living magazines.

The ‘Name the Millcroft Restaurant’ contest was promoted in the winter issues of Caledon Living and Orangeville Living with entries being collected on their websites www.caledonliving.com and www.orangevilleliving.ca. Through these initiatives over 350 entries were generated. After a preliminary review by Vintage Hotels, 25 of the most interesting and appropriate names were selected.

Each member of Vintage Hotels’ Executive Board then had the opportunity to cast their vote. Finally, the team at the Millcroft voted on the selections and the winning name Headwaters Restaurant at Millcroft Inn & Spa was chosen.

“As a company we feel that the name Headwaters Restaurant is a real winner,” notes Paul MacIntyre, General Manager of Millcroft Inn & Spa.  “It draws attention to this beautiful and distinct region The Hills of Headwaters, where four of Ontario’s major river systems begin. As a committed and contributing member of the HOH community, we are proud to name our restaurant in its honour.”

Locals and travelers alike are encouraged to choose Headwaters Restaurant at Millcroft Inn & Spa for their special occasions, or for everyday occasions. Executive Chef Jill St.Amour continues to create outstanding menus guided by the availability of fresh, organic and natural foods that grow in abundance in the Hills of Headwaters region, a veritable playground for foodies.
