Niagara’s Candlelight Stroll
Each year, Niagara-on-the-Lake hosts a breathtaking candlelight stroll that offers visitors a truly unique way to experience choral Christmas music, while also touring our town’s elegant Heritage District. The Candlelight Stroll begins at the Old Courthouse. From there, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of our historical town and, at a number of the stops, you’ll be serenaded by local choirs and other seasonal entertainment.

Outdoor Ice Skating in Niagara-on-the-Lake
In 2016, Niagara-on-the-Lake made a festive addition to the heart of town – an outdoor skating rink! Vintage Hotels and its proud partner, Parks Canada were so excited to unveil this wonderful space for families and couples to enjoy the blustery weather, newly fallen snow and cherished memories with friends.
This 7,200-square foot skating rink in Niagara-on-the-Lake is the perfect way to spend a winter evening. Because we wanted to ensure everyone could partake in the festivities, there are skate rentals available for our guests. Warm up with some tasty concessions and skate away the evening under the stars.
Niagara-on-the-Lake Christmas Parade
Come to see Santa when he visits Niagara-on-the-Lake this December. Considered one of Ontario’s most anticipated Santa Clause parades, it’s a favourite for locals and Niagara visitors alike. See the many beautifully constructed floats that are sure to inspire holiday memories.

From the casual atmosphere to the cool artisans you can find all in one convenient location, this craft show is definitely the more attractive and festive alternative to an over-crowded mall.

Fort George Garrison Christmas
Fort George is arguably Niagara-on-the-Lake’s most beloved historical landmark. During the Christmas season, this important site is transformed with the holiday spirit to offer an idyllic setting for your family to participate in high-energy activities, festive crafts and light-hearted games.
While you indulge in a few great holiday adventures, you’ll also get to warm up with some hot chocolate and enjoy tasty treats provided by the Friends of Fort George. And, just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean you’ll miss out on the historical element of the Fort – there will still be musket demonstrations throughout the event.

New Year’s Day Levee
Continue your New Year’s celebrations through to the big day where you’ll be surrounded by the Friends of Fort George and Parks Canada, as you ring in 2019. This event, which takes place at Navy Hall, will include toasts, music by the 41st Regiment Fife and Drum Corps, as well as a ceremonial cannon firing to get the New Year off to an exciting start.
