Mark Longster developed his love of food during his formative years as he spent countless hours in his family’s restaurant in Dunnville. Both of his parents are chefs, so an appreciation for quality and the ability to transform raw ingredients into beautiful and delicious meals seems to be in his blood.

A Lifelong Culinary Passion

Supporting his chef parents by chopping veggies and tidying up the kitchen formed the basis for Mark’s great taste. As a young chef, he attended Niagara College to refine his culinary skills and knowledge. After graduation, Mark became Niagara’s youngest certified chef. At the ripe age of 20, he joined the Moffat Inn’s kitchen staff in Niagara where he continued to celebrate local and regional flavours with his flair for culinary creativity.

Now a seasoned chef, Mark dedicates his days to ensuring each and every guest who visits the Cannery Restaurant at Pillar & Post enjoys robust flavours in upscale traditional dishes. He makes everything from scratch, and his diligence does not go unnoticed. Guests return to the Cannery time and time again in celebration of the refined comfort foods Mark prepares.
