Let’s admit it, we’ve all had enough of winter and it’s time to celebrate spring in Ontario’s best tourist destination, Niagara-on-the-Lake. There is tons to do throughout the Niagara region during the upcoming season, and we’ve highlighted some of our visitors’ favourite activities below. See what Niagara has in store and get busy enjoying your freedom from frost.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Foodie Tour

Get ready for an afternoon full of delicious eats and charming scenery during this fantastic foodie tour in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The tour explores Niagara’s rich history and culture, as much as it exposes guests to the incredible tastes of the region.

You will visit several local restaurants where you’ll indulge in their best bites and also have the chance to meet the various locations’ chefs and owners. Learn about food and wine trends for this season, while becoming comfortably full with a diverse array of dynamite tastings.

Dates:   April 1 to November 20, 2018
When:   Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (and Wednesdays from June to September)

Time:     The tour begins at 1:30 p.m.

Dig Our Roots

Dig Our Roots is a celebration of the rich and diverse landscape of Niagara-on-the-Lake. This April 6-8, join the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake as our member wineries welcome guests and offer one-of-a-kind experiences that showcase our wines, our winemakers and our vineyards like never before! Visit our wineries throughout the weekend and immerse yourself in winemaking excellence while you unearth what makes the region so very special.

Bravo Niagara! Presents the Schwarz-Bournaki Duo

This unique event will delight music lovers, as they get to watch the award-winning documentary I am Not a Rock Star, which features pianist Marika Bournaki and then enjoy a performance by the Schwarz-Bournaki duo. This combination of cinema and live-performance adds a great deal of depth to the event, as audiences will really have the chance to feel connected to Bournaki and her cellist partner Schwarz.

Bravo Niagara! Presents Brandon Goldberg

This 11-year-old pianist is going to amaze you. Brandon Goldberg has already appeared on the Harry Connick Jr. Show and Little Big Shots. Now, you can catch his Canadian debut during this evening soiree at one of Niagara’s favourite wineries. You will not believe your eyes and ears when you see and hear the way this young man plays. We suggest you prepare for a concert marked by perfect precision and elegance.

Sip & Sizzle

Niagara is alive with the taste of wineries! So, kick-start your spring with samplings from the region’s favourite wineries. With your touring pass, you can try a wine and food pairing at more than 20 wineries throughout Niagara-on-the-Lake. Each winery offers a unique setting, venue, feel and flavour, so everyone in your group will be able to find something that strikes their fancy (and palette).

Dates: Weekends in May 2018 from 11 AM to 5 PM

Bravo Niagara! Presents Emily Bear

Emily Bear has been a professional musician since she was five years old. Now 16, she is a renowned pianist, composer and songwriter who is taking the world by storm. Performing in the world’s most celebrated venues, including Carnegie Hall and the White House, Emily is known for her love (and perfect execution) of a wide variety of musical genres – from pop to classical and everything in between.

Bravo Niagara! Presents Nikki Chooi and Tony Yike Yang

If you have a passion for classical music, you will not want to miss this evening of exceptional performances by two award-winning musicians. Nikki Chooi is a celebrated violinist who has dazzled audiences during tours around the world. He served as Concertmaster of New York’s Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and has won awards across the globe for being a vibrant and technically flawless violinist.

During this evening of musical decadence, you will also get to hear from Tony Yike Yang who is a young, but masterful pianist. He has won several international awards and plays well beyond his years with a flair for dramatic pieces.

13th Annual Shaw Guild Garden Tour

Explore eight of the most opulent gardens throughout Old Town Niagara-on-the-Lake during the 13th Annual Shaw Guild Garden Tour. During the tour, you will see hundreds of varieties of perennials and a beautiful assortment of trees and lush shrubs.

Continue to explore your green thumb at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre’s gardens and Labyrinth where you’ll be surrounded by a sea of stunning colours and gorgeous greenery. If you work up an appetite, stop into the Sweet and Swirls Café for lunch along the tour.
