Niagara Grape & Wine Festival 2017

Discover the tastes, sights and sounds of the 2017 Niagara Grape & Wine Festival

Summer may be coming to an end, but there is still plenty to enjoy in the heart of wine country. In the spirit of Canada’s 150th Anniversary, local wineries, food vendors and entertainers are coming together to make the 66th Annual Niagara Grape & Wine Festival the most spectacular celebration of the year. During the weekends falling within September 8 through to the 24, enjoy vibrant events centred on the best that the region has to offer – diverse wines, delicious foods and energetic Canadians who want to soak up the last days of sunshine surrounded by people who truly understand how to enjoy themselves.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival. Whether you choose to partake in all three weekends or just visit for an overnight getaway, you will not be disappointed by the incredible array of grapes and flavourful foods that the Greenbelt has to offer.

Treat yourself to the full experience with the Discovery Pass| $40+HST

The Niagara Grape & Wine Festival Discovery Pass is your key to three weekends full of flavor and fun. This pass enables you to enjoy eight experiences per pass holder, so you can choose which tastings, entertainment and events best suit you and your loved ones. The best part is you’ll save significantly on each of the events of your choice. Without the Discovery Pass, most events are each $10 to attend. So, plan ahead and use your savings to enjoy even more of what Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer.

If you’re keeping your loved ones safe, still take part in the events, but save on your pass!

Driver’s Discovery Pass | $30+HST
If you are kind (and disciplined) enough to be the designated driver for your group, take advantage of the pass that gets you into each event for less– as long as you enjoy them dry!

Discovery Passes can be redeemed September 10-11, 16-17 and the 23-24 during the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival. You don’t have to use up all eight experiences in one day, so you can enjoy a truly customizable experience that delights your taste buds and your flare for great music and beautiful scenery.

Experience the magic that Montebello Park has to offer

Throughout the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival, the historic Montebello Park in downtown St. Catharines will be transformed by the sights, sounds and flavours of Canada’s wine county. Visit Montebello Park to experience many of the highlights of the celebration. This picturesque park, which is full of rich Niagara history, truly comes alive during the festival as thousands of visitors from across the region cheers to the last hurrah of summer.

At Montebello Park, you’re sure to be drawn in by the unprecedented selection of wine tastings and samples of local cuisine, but it’s not just your taste buds that will be treated. Dozens of Canadian performers will be taking the stage throughout each of the festival weekends. From Friday until Sunday evening, you can experience every type of music that award-winning local musicians will sing, sway and play to. From a renowned Beatles tribute band to classic rock and country, music lovers will not want to miss this impressive lineup of seasoned wine festival stars.

What’s a party without a parade?

The Niagara Grape & Wine Festival also hosts two annual parades in September, the Pied Piper Parade and the 66th Annual Meridian Grande Parade, as well as other activities that are more geared towards the whole family – rather than just the food and wine lovers. The Pied Piper Parade takes place on Saturday, September 19 and the Grande Parade is happening on Saturday, September 23. More than 70,000 people attend the Grande Parade each year, and it includes absolutely stunning floats and upbeat marching bands, drum corps and street performers. Over the course of the two weekends, you’ll be more than 100,000 spectators in the heart of downtown St. Catharines at these wonderful parades.

If you’re driving into St. Catharines, don’t forget there is FREE parking on weekends and evenings in City parking garages and lots.
