As the author of more than 60 plays, many theatre aficionados have said that Bernard Shaw ranks second only to Shakespeare in terms of importance. Certainly, he counts among the most important playwrights of the 20th century. As such, it makes as much sense to celebrate his plays and contributions to theatre as it does to celebrate the Bard’s.
