There’s something for everyone during the month of August in Niagara on the Lake. From historical demonstrations to celebrating the peach harvest, your whole family will enjoy being outdoors and enjoying the weather and entertainment.

The Past is Present: A Heritage Festival

The Niagara Historical Society and Museum is hosting a free event that makes the past come alive before your eyes. There is a “treasurer’s” sale on the front lawn, historical demonstrations, good food, live music, and heritage activities.

Peach Celebration

The 28th Annual Peach Festival is a great and tasty way to commemorate the peach harvest. There will be performances by five local bands, including The Toronto All-Star Band and The Local Fife and Drum. The Ben Show, a talented street performance, will provide family-friendly entertainment that you won’t want to miss. Queen Street merchants are hosting a sidewalk sale offering many delicious peach treats.

Shades of Summer Harvest Dinner

In celebration of the peach harvest, enjoy this special night on historic Queen’s Street. You can reserve a table for eight; the linens, live music, and ambiance will be provided. You can pre-order wine and gourmet picnic baskets or bring your own food, then enjoy dining and dancing the night away under the stars.

Fife & Drum Muster & Solider Field Days

The 17th Annual Fife and Drum Muster and Solider Field Days at historic Fort George will display military music and traditions from the early 19th century. With regimens from across Canada and the United States, this will be an impressive display of fife and drum corps tunes and military drills. There will be demonstrations of firearms, music, and entertainment.

Echoes of Niagara’s Past: Military Timeline Event

This unique event at Fort George showcases uniforms, weapons, and vehicles from the War of 1812, World War I, World War II, and more. The 200-year-old fort will come to life with guides, demonstrations, and veterans sharing history with your family.
